Carry On camping.

At the beginning of August, I managed a few days camping at Blackbrook Campsite, just north of Belper. I've enjoyed camping here before due to the peace and steady fishing. I took along my 10' Shakespeare Omni rod and Mitchell Match reel. They haven't netted the lake as they said they might, so it's easy fishing which is nice with a few beers and it's good to see some young anlgers' catching and getting into fishing.

I was back at Woodrow's Pond on the Earl of Harrington ticket this month. I took the Milbro Prefect which I'm enjoying and a recent purchase, an Abu 501 Mk1. I've had closed-face reels before and not got on with them due to tangles, however, this reel is nice and smooth and didn't give me any tangling troubles. I float-fished maggots and caught plenty of those greedy Perch as usual, and some Gudgeon. I got smashed up twice in the margins, probably by a Tench which went straight into the lilies and decided to call it a day. Heavier tackle next time I think.
