August Bank Holiday Madness

August too was a very busy month, and the only chance I had to wet a line was on Bank Holiday Monday. After much procrastinating I decided to fish the canal at Stenson Bubble. My first choice of swim was upstream from the lock, just before the next bridge, a good spot for Zander I'm told! After catching some descent sized Perch on single maggots, two passing children threw stones in the canal, then a dog jumped in to get a stick and then, surprisingly, my swim went quiet! I decided to move and went below the lock to a spot I've fished before. The rest of the day was spent catching Perch, Roach and Skimmers and watching the fry swim near the bank. A pleasant days fishing apart from a few disturbances which included witnessing some canal rage, exchanged by two skippers involved in a minor collision.
